I've had a blog for nine years. I began it in college, and it followed me though my dorm life, moving ib with my then boyfriend, getting pregnant with my son, having him, getting married, several moves, and finally the birth of our daughter this last May. All of these things have made me change and evolve. When our son was born we were 21 and 22. We did standard medical care. We thought it was crazy to not vaccinate. Six years of research has changed us. This time we did just about everything differently with out daughter. We chose a Midwife for her birth. We did have a hospital birth based on the decision that we would be more responsible to be able to pay our bills than pay four times as much for a home birth.
I am exclusively nursing, and have been from day one. My son, Gabe only got partial breast milk from day one to three months. Cyan is almost four months now, and I plan to nurse her until at least two years of age. She has never had a vaccination. We stopped vaccinating Gabe at six months when it became clear that he was reacting badly to the vaccine. Cyan sleeps in out bed. I will say that Gabe did this too, but we began using cry it out when he was nine months. That will never happen again. We also use cloth diapers this time. I personally love them.
Other things have changed for us as well. We now have a garden that we live out of in the summer. We are slowly making changes that may make more work for ourselves, but perhaps be less reliant on the rest of the world. I would love to buy property in the next three years or so and change it to almost off grid living. Internet would be the only connection. Then when we retire we could live comfortably.
Most of this blog will be about the changes that we have made. How they work. If we struggle. Things like that.
